Titus; I see you started the Pacsso and Zach paintings with a sketch. Did you do it with charcoal? Do you need a fixative over charcoal before starting the painting?
You worked from a photo off the Internet for the Picasso, are there any copyright issues.
I used pencil to block in the drawings for both portraits. I don't always do a sketch before the painting. In fact, most of the time I don't--but when I do, I use pencil or charcoal. I sometimes spray fix the drawing in the event I really don't want the drawing to be destroyed, but honestly, I usually never spray because I never spend invest too much time on the block-in drawing stage.
Yes there are usually copyright issues with found reference from the internet. But, since I'm not profiting in any way from the image, there are no legal penalties associated with such use.
